Just wonderful to get back to Brume and this dysfunctional crew in the exciting conclusion to this series!! Fun and fast-paced, it’s everything you wanted- twists, turns, humor and oh ……SO MANY SPIDERS!!! The story picks up a few days after the events in Of Wicked Blood and just when things were getting back to a normal routine, Cadence makes a decision that changes everything. And it doesn’t just affect the four members of the Quatrefoil crew, but everyone living in Brume, some in devastating ways. Don’t want to spoil anything so can’t say anything else about the twists, just that they will take you on quite the ride and include even more revelations about what led them all here to this point. Katie and Olivia bring it all home with snark, romance. laugh out loud moments and a few tears. Love this crew of characters and it’s sad to have to leave Brume behind!!

Writing duo Olivia Wildenstein & Katie Hayoz created a twisty romp that will leave you absolutely breathless right up until the end. After a multitude of “what now?!” AKA WTF moments, this 2nd installment has so many scenarios you can’t see coming, your head will spin! The whole crew is back from Of Wicked Blood, and even Spike and his ladies are there.
What was a bit fun, OI must admit, was the glossary of French curse words in the front. I did giggle a bit at some of them.
There is profanity, some crude remarks, lots of danger, and steam. Overall an exciting read, keeping you flipping pages until the very satisfying end!
I will definitely read these again, and really would love to see a spin off for this world, and these wonderful characters. OW & KH are a writing force to be reckoned with, and I truly hope they write together again soon! My thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC of the book. I missed motley crew. Each one of them has captured my heart, even prof a little.
I loved picking up right where we left off and just jumping right into the madness. This book had so many more crazy twists and turns and surprises. Such a hard book to put down because I just wanted to know what was gonna happen next. There was so much hilarious banter and sarcasm I could just see myself hanging out with them (except for the past about spiders, I’ll be with Alma then). I was getting really nervous about the ending. Cadence and Slate deserve the happily ever after but I was on the edge of my seat! Never trust that damn clock!!
