I could not put this story down. It pulled at my heart. I too had a very hard life. You do things you never would dream of doing to survive. Then one day come and it is okey….that day comes….it still is not always easy but so much better so much Easter then ever before. Thank you for this story. It needed to be told.

It’s a cute storyline, I liked the idea of leaving behind trauma and entering an idealized yet equally traumatic environment. It just wasn’t very interesting. The whole story is just the young antagonist being scared of her mother’s shadow, all the way til the end. Most of it is predictable, and it’s written similarly to other YA novels with the same suspenseful undertones. All in all it’s cute, and has a happy resolution (maybe that’s why I didn’t like it much!)

What an unusual and original concept. I can easily say I haven’t read anything similar. I don’t know where Bleeker gets her ideas from but full Mark’s for originality. I loved the story and the main protagonist was inspiring, a story of strength, courage, endurance and survival.
