Ali Hazelwood

Ali Hazelwood Author of Loathe To Love you Pdf is a multi-published author—alas, of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience. She recently became a professor, which absolutely terrifies her. When Ali is not at work, she can be found running, crocheting, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her two feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband). It’s amazing that Ali Hazelwood has literally one book out but I’m willing to read anything she writes.
update :
hm I loved this but I think I didn’t have the right expectations… I think I’ll like it more upon a rr.

vaishnave marked it as to-read

“…an anthology of connected STEMinist rom-coms following the stories of three best friends who learn that when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn…”
you had me at ‘rom-com’, and then again at ‘love and science’ and then AGAIN at ‘opposites attract and rivals’. (basically, ali hazelwood just has me: hook, line, and sinker.

I was so excited that Ali Hazelwood was releasing THREE new novellas this year to hold us over between the release of The Love Hypothesis and Love on the Brain. I was sad they were only released in audio format for a few months before coming out as books, but I gave in and got an audible membership to listen to them. I decided to review all three of them together because they are all pretty short, and if I am being honest, similar. If you liked The Love Hypothesis, you will like these novellas. Obviously, there is less time for plot development, which is why I typically do not like novellas as much, but they have a very similar premise: a woman in STEM falls for a tall grumpy/reserved man in an enemies-to-lovers situation. This is by no means a complaint, as these are some of my favorite tropes and I enjoyed listening to all three! In my opinion, they were released in the order of best to worst. I loved Stuck With You as the two main characters are diametrically opposed and the slow burn is fantastic. Stuck With You was an enjoyable listen and the hero was such a simp for Sadie that you can’t help but root for him. Below Zero was my least favorite, probably because there were a lot of flashbacks/flashforwards that can be a little confusing to listen to on audio, and also the steamy scene had some weird Mars references… if you know, you know. Below Zero is probably the story that is most similar to TLH, which is both good and bad in my opinion. Overall, I am glad I picked these up and I recommend them to anyone who liked The Love Hypothesis! I am seriously looking forward to Love on the Brain coming out in just a few months!

Grace rated it- it was amazing

Literally Ali Hazelwood can never write a bad track. These three novellas went so well together, and I loved the mixture of science, feminist icons, and super supportive and loving and smart (and hot) boyfriends.
