Remember pdf Summary
Toni Morrison has collected a treasure chest of archival photographs that depict the historical events surrounding school desegregation. These unforgettable images serve as the inspiration for Ms. Morrison’s text—a fictional account of the dialogue and emotions of the children who lived during the era of “separate but equal” schooling. Remember is a unique pictorial and narrative journey that introduces children to a watershed period in American history and its relevance to us today.
Remember will be published on the 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision ending legal school segregation, handed down on on May 17, 1954.

5.0 out of 5 stars Priceless! Morrison Magic!

The book is well written! The photographs are gorgeous! It’s a children’s book, but it’s written with such passion and thoughtful language that a young person from elementary to high school age can find it meaningful. It’s a cleverly crafted history book. The book includes sections with a time line of school integration in the US and Photo Notes,
which is a detailed explanation of all the images in the book; theses sections make this book a great reference. This book is another brilliant work by Toni Morrison!

This was a book needed for one of my writing classes in college. Although it was an interesting book, it was much shorter and not nearly as descriptive as I thought it to be. If there ar eno pages missing, I urge you to buy the cheapest one you can find. The seller was awesome and got here before any of the other books I purchased. Never used Amazon before, but will be sure to use it again since it was so incredibly easy and accurate….

I bought this book for my classroom of middle schoolers and they love it. It tells a moving story through pictures.
Although it is technically a picture book it is so much deeper than that.
It is a great book to use if talking about Toni Morrison or black history, or fiction, or poetry. I love having this book and I know any teacher or parent would feel the same.
