own up to your mistakes and make thing right

In today’s daily bible study, we will discuss a bible nugget titled, “Own up to your Mistakes and make things right.”

In the previous bible study and bible nugget titled It is darkest before dawn; we narrated the events that preceded the 10 plagues which God brought upon the Egyptians.

We learnt that it was at the moment the situation of the Israelites seemed worst, that God finally intervened and unleashed the 10 plagues.

We learned from that bible study; the need not to lose hope in any situation, because, it is always darkest just before the dawn. It is that moment you think all hope is lost that God manifests His divine power.

If you have not read the article, this is it, “It is Darkest Before Dawn.” For today’s bible study nugget, we shall start by discussing a bible passage.

Bible Study Passage

When God unleashed the plagues on the Egyptians, the first plague was water turning into blood; and the second was the plague of frogs. As these plagues ravaged Egypt, instead of Pharaoh to look for a way to stop the plagues, he enjoined his magicians and sorcerers to replicate the same thing. Exodus chapter 7 verses 20 to 22 says; Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

Also, in the plague of frogs, the bible says in the book of Exodus 8 verses 6 and 7; So, Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

Own up to your Mistakes and Make Things Right

How could this be? Should Pharaoh be concerned with proving to Moses and Aaron, that he is as powerful as they are, or should he be concerned with undoing whatsoever they did?

Pharaoh’s attitude is laughable and crazy. He couldn’t own up to his mistakes and make things right. Unfortunately, that is how most of us behave.

In order not to accept defeat or take the blame, some people are ready to go to any length to rationalize their mistakes, even when the evidence is clear that they were wrong.

This is a bad attitude that we have to shun in our lives. Today’s daily bible study, focuses on attitudinal transformation. Own up to your mistakes and make things right

For us to walk with God and enjoy His blessings, there are certain attitudes we need to change or rather, snap out of. Attitudes, like pride and arrogance. We should know when we are wrong, take the blame for our mistakes and fix the mistakes we made. We should always own up to your mistakes and make things right.

When you study the book of Exodus deeply, you will discover that it was pride and arrogance that made Pharaoh harden his heart. It is stated in the bible that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart, but that was after Pharaoh had done so in several occasions, as we are going to discuss in subsequent bible studies.

Child of God, it will do you no good to be arrogant and unnecessarily proud. Learn to humble yourself and God will draw close to you and bless you, and when whenever you make a mistake, do your best to own up to your mistakes and make things right; that is how a child of God should behave.

Remember. There are several things God hates and being arrogant is one of them.

May God give us the spirit of humility and humbleness to lead a life full of peace and tranquility. Amen.
