This is a story about more than a couple finding love….it’s about finding love as a family and becoming whole. We have the story of Grant and Piper, who have had feelings for each other for years and came close to acting on those feelings only once. Grant is an ex Marine who suffers from PTSD and nightmares from a night he feels he failed saving an Afghan family and lost his leg in the process. Now working at his family’s hotel with his sister Leah and their other properties as a handyman it’s getting harder to keep himself in check around Piper. Piper owns and runs a daycare at the hotel with the help of her sister Tabby. One of her clients is her selfish and unreliable cousin Andy’s son Caleb who has issues with balance and keeping up with the other kids. When Andy goes missing Piper has no trouble keeping the little boy she loves like her own. Caleb is attached to Grant from the start but also reminds Grant of the boy her couldn’t save. Money hungry family come out of the woodwork when Andy is found dead and want to rip Caleb from Piper’s arms. Something sinister is afoot when Caleb is kidnapped and Piper goes missing in a snowstorm to get him back. Grant will do anything it takes to save the two people that have crawled into his heart or die trying. Will Grant find them in time to make them a family or will more guilt from failure weigh in his shoulders. K . C. Crowne touches on some sensitive subjects such as bullying and PTSD with a passion that will make your heart flutter. I love how she pens this entire story and gives Piper and Caleb the power to show Grant that missing a leg doesn’t make him less of a man but a hero for what he’s survived and all he’s given. I will gladly read any story from K. C. Crowne. A MUST READ!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward for more and hopefully a story for Tabby.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get Piper and Grant’s story. We met these two in Baby for the Mountain Man. Since Grant’s time in the military he spends more of his time alone then really wanting company. Well most people’s company there is one woman he wants though he knows he really shouldn’t. Piper knows her brother is flighty and not the best dad but he does typically come back for his son. so when he is gone for two days with no call no return of texts she knows something is up. She would do anything for her nephew and has been more then willing to watch him but worries to about what will happen to him if they can’t find his dad. There is one thing neither of the planned on one little boy who needs them both. Will they find a HEA they didn’t know they could have or will outside forces make sure this never happens?

This is another nail biting emotionally binding story from this author. It does have its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about (trust me so much it hurts). However I don’t want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book will have you unable to put it down after just the first page. Sleep who needs that you will want to know what happens to these two. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Book two in the Mountain Daddies series. Grant was a marine and now suffers from PTSD. He now works as a handyman at the family hotel. Grant typically stays to himself but one person he wants to get closer to is Piper.
Piper operates a daycare at that hotel and sometimes takes care of Andy’s (her cousin) son, Caleb. When Andy goes missing for a couple of days, she knows something is up. But when Andy is found dead, then other family members want Caleb. When Caleb is kidnapped, Piper knows she has to do what she can to get Caleb back. Grant can help Piper and the two find they can’t resist each other. Great face paced story with mystery and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
