She self-published the Connor Falls Christmas series as Robin Maderich, but have always wanted to return to writing for the young adult reader. What a great surprise and a story that kept me involved throughout the whole read ( I am a long time reader that felt like my attention span had greatly diminished over the years) which only took me less than three days from start to finish.. The characters voices were very distinct and interesting, as the story moved along I wanted to hear each voice and how the scenes played out from each of them..looking forward to the next story with these characters.

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of The Shadows We Make. Jo Allen Ash has created a fascinating world for young adult readers of all ages. Grace Irese is a fierce warrior and yet believable teenage protagonist ready to defend the lives of all her newfound companions. The author perfectly crafts high-risk adventure with teenage angst and a compelling tale of alien life in a dystopian society. I cannot wait for the next installment in what I believe will become an epic series.

I received an advance review copy of The Shadows We Make by Jo Allen Ash. I am almost completely through it — I couldn’t put it down! The well-crafted characters and storyline drive a beautifully-imagined tale that is compelling, emotional, and evocative. You really get a feel for the characters and their emotions, and feel like you’ve been drawn into their alien world. I highly recommend this book.
