The Como Falcon Book Summary

Police officer Ali Falco has created a comfortable life in the beautiful Tuscan city of Siena, Italy patrolling the ancient streets. Behind the walls of the medieval town it’s easy to keep the past out of mind, but shocking news of her father’s death is impossible to ignore, forcing her to return north to her childhood home of Como, a stunning lakeside city tucked into the Italian Alps, and the site of a lot of bad memories. She and her father were tightly bonded until the death of her mother thrust a divide between them. Hate him or not, though, something about his death doesn’t look right. Jeff Carson Author of The Como Falcon Pdf is the Amazon-Bestselling author of the David Wolf Series. Set in the high country of Colorado and mountain west, his books are chock-full of action, mystery, thrills, and suspense. Add a bit of humor and romance, a colorful cast of characters, all set in ruggedly beautiful territory, and it’s clear why the David Wolf series is gaining acclaim.

The first novel in the David Wolf series, Foreign Deceit, is an international mystery-thriller he wrote while living in Italy for a year with his wife and son. The next thirteen books in the still ongoing series are set in the mountain-western United States.

Jeff acquired a love for adventure-thriller-mystery-suspense fiction at a young age by listening to audio books while driving the vast landscapes of the western U.S. with his family. One leg of a trip from Denver to Payette, Idaho (to visit relatives) was enough time to squeeze in a good Cussler, a Christie, a Child, a Silva, a Box, a Flynn, or one of the others he considers master story-tellers. Now he incorporates many the same elements of those authors in his own writing. Jeff and his wife, Cristina, currently live with their two sons in Colorado.

I just could not warm up to Ali as a character. I often found her reactions to her circumstances ill judged, immature, and grating. However, the story was very good and held my interest. I will continue on to the next book in the series. Annoying people can be interesting.

I’m going to give credit to Jeff Carson for moving a bit outside of what we normally expect from him. I love the David Wolf series and have thoroughly enjoyed every installment. So, I wasn’t sure about this new character and setting.

Not to worry! Jeff has brought all his talent to bear on a new and fascinating character. All the elements we expect from a David Wolf novel are there; the detailed images of the settings, the insight into what the characters are thinking and what motivates them, a healthy dose of expertly imagined action scenes and a carefully woven, emminently believable plotline with enough unexpected developments to keep you turning the pages well into the night. It’s all there with the added surprise of a foreign landscape and surroundings that Carson makes you immediately comfortable and familiar with. I feel like I have been to Lake Como and experienced its beauty and charm. Seldom does a succesful author take a risk like this. Even less often is he/she successful. This is a winner in every way. Bring on Ali #2!

Another excellent story from Jeff Carson. We met Ali Falco in the first David Wolf book Foreign Deceit when he had to travel to Italy because of his brother’s death.
Ali is a beat cop who hasn’t seen or spoken to her father in 11 years since her mother’s funeral. She gets an urgent call to come see the Carbinieri in the town of Como, where she grew up.
Her father is dead and it looks like suicide, but she doesn’t believe it. The book takes her on an adventure to try to prove that he was murdered.
Excellent suspense/mystery as she does her thing. If you haven’t read Carson’s David Wolf series I highly recommend it.

So…i debated with myself if i’ll continue to read this series, especially since it is way different from the David Wolfe series, but i guess i’ll see when the next one is published. Having said that, the story was interesting. I was a bit annoid at Ali’s quick reaction everytime and her way of firstly seeing the negative in information supplied-this came across as very immature for someone already 30 years old. I hope this gets better in future. I dis enjoy the relationship she had with all the other characters in the book. As to the story..its a good read for a first book. Thank you to the author for sharing his stories!
