This book really kept my interest!! I love that it had all kinds of creatures and kept them all throughout the serious. Demonds, witches, wolves, vampires, leaders, under dogs, all of them have there own back story too. It was really good to read and couldn’t put the book down. I listened to the audio while I was working and followed a long sometimes. It really kept me focused and I will be getting the next set!!

I really wanted to love this. I loved the concept and I liked the main characters at first but by the second book I just couldn’t push through it. The writing is technically fine but it feels repetitive because the author is constantly using the same wording to describe the characters. She also describes scenery or visual things endlessly in every scene but barely spends any time on character interactions or inner monologues so it feels like the majority of the book is just describing pointless information.

What little info. was covered I enjoyed so I still think it has potential and maybe some people don’t mind the long winded writing style. I also didn’t feel the main characters reactions and internal rationalizations made sense on a psychological level. Ex: a person who hasn’t been able to engage in touch from childhood wouldn’t even have the instinct to hug someone anymore even if they deeply craved contact. The same types of things were true in the relationship that developed: couldn’t touch and only interacted closely a handful of times and hardly know anything about each other and yet want to claim each other forever.

Because of those types of inconsistencies and the over descriptive writing style I couldn’t connect to the story and characters deeply enough to want to continue the story.
