The Laguna Heights novel drew me in right away and held my interest to the very end. I couldn’t put the book down because I wanted to know what would happen to Annie, both the present and past parts of the story. I wanted to know how she’d handle the situations as well.
Annie seemed like such a sweet girl in Laguna Nights and the way the novel had described how she was portrayed on their high school reality show. Even the nicest and supportive people can have horrible things happen to them, much like Annie did.
Annie’s relationship with Chris in college seems to move very quickly. There were parts of the novel that, as a reader, I could see there were signs that Chris was not completely stable or that their relationship wasn’t healthy. I feared for Annie. I’m pleased that she had people to turn to in times of trouble. I would hope anyone in an unhealthy relationship would have someone they could turn to for help.
Hank was there to help Annie get through the Chris situation. He was caring, understanding, and loving towards Annie during that hard time. They eventually got married and have kids. Now Chris is showing back up, threatening the secret Annie has kept from Hank, and could possibly damage the marriage Annie’s formed with Hank.
I kept hoping for the best for Annie throughout the novel. I had to keep reading until the end to know how Annie’s situation would turn out. I am very pleased with how the ending turned out.

I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
I just loved book one in the series Laguna Nights, and in that we meet Annie – she came across being such a sweet, nice girl that when I started this book I wasn’t expecting her story to be how it was.
This plays out in the present where she is married to Hank and has children. and also 10 years ago when she had finished with high school and the tv series and was now at Uni. She is used to being recognised and when she meets Chris it is no different, Their relationship progresses very, very quickly and actually from the first moment we meet him I instantly thought he was bad news.
And boy was I right!
I don’t want to spoil the story but sweet Annie went through such a horrendous time with Chris and it became clear that he was in fact a stalker. When she finally managed to break free from him she meets Hank. He helps her deal with the Chris situation, but there was a secret she was even keeping from Hank.
I felt the ending was a little rushed, but it was more an epilogue of points that happened after the finally confrontation with Chris -**(I just re-read the last chapter and I guess it was the best way to play it out or else Kaira could have gone on and on 🙂 (in a good way!)**
This was an entirely different story from book one and I absolutely loved the fact that I wasn’t expecting this to be how Annie’s story played out. It had me hooked from the very beginning and I read it in a few hours as I just couldn’t put it down.

It ‘s a compelling novel, romantic but with intrigue, secrets, twists. The author hooks me from the start. As soon as I started reading this one, I could not put it down, I have read it in one afternoon.
Annie’s life had been serene, perfect, with wonderful parents, great friends and a fun and profitable experience in Laguna Nights, the famous reality show for kids. Until college she had met Chris. A handsome and charming guy but very violent. She has lived a nightmare with him and when she seems to be rid of him realizes she was mistaken …..
Laguna Heights is the second book in this series and can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone novel. The protagonists of books in the series have in common of having participated in the reality show “Laguna Nights” when they were in high school. Annie is the best friend of Madison, the protagonist of the first episode. I look forward to reading the third.
It ‘s a short but intense reading, engaging, light but by no means trivial. It’s beautifully written and the characters had so much depth that you felt as though you knew them. The storyline flowed perfect and the pace is really fast, thanks to the continuous jumps between past and present. I have no hesitation in recommending it highly.
