Andy Roberts had join the military he and Jean conceived a child. She was born after Jean found out that Andy had been killed in World War 11. Tana grows up in the 1960’s. Jean tries to give her everything. She becomes a mistress and wastes her life hoping to marry a man, who has been good to her and Tana. Tana sees the way her mother lives and confronts her about it and silently vows not to be like her. Tana is raped by the son of her mothers boss/ lover and when Tana tells Jean, she doesn’t believe her. Which makes Tana even more angry. As she starts her life, Tana makes some interesting friends along the way. Harry Winslow becomes her best friend, he is secretly in love with her and doesn’t want to scare her off. It is interesting the way her life goes from a radical hippie to becoming a Superior court judge over the years. It is just a picture of the circle of life is, how we believe certain things when we are young and how our views change over time. We end up with what we said we didn’t want. In Tana’s case a home and family. It is amazing how life brings us full circle.

Another great ready by Danielle Steele. This one keeps a person wanting to find out what happens next.
I was a bit surprised towards the mid way point, that things were not happening as I felt they would. Later
to loose a main character in the book was bit surprising also. However, it was all pulled together at the end.
Another great read and anxious to get to the next Danielle Steele book.
