Sometimes an understanding silence was better than a bunch of meaningless words.”
A soulful journey through the heart of a man, speechless & Lonely. Mia hasn’t allocated even whispers to her Mute, Loner – Archer Hale but readers feel them regardless. His silence, expressions, eyes, touch our hearts like feathers falling from the sky. Love really need no language, words or tunes. All you need is a willing heart
“She had told me my voice mattered, and her love had made me believe it might be true. And sometimes, that’s all it takes—one person who’s willing to listen to your heart, to the sound no one else has ever tried to hear.”
Love at its purest and finest form, almost like a prayer. Like we can’t see God or touch him or see him, just feel his presence, Archers quiet demeanor doesn’t need words for validation of his radiance.
“more light shines out of those who have the most cracks.”
Archer can’t talk but his personality filled the corners of Bree’s heart and dispelled her darkness and nightmares somehow. I’ve never read a more stirring story before.
I’d read this book somewhere in 2016, but I wasn’t a reviewer then, so that had to be rectified immediately. Hence the reread. The best part about it is that the narrative speed and path. Though it’s not a huge book, Mia pays attention to character development. Nothing is rushed. She give Archer ample time to go from a shy recluse to a hesitantly confident man. The growth of their individual personalities and their love bond is slow & steady on a gradual upward incline, skipping no steps yet keeping readers spellbound. That is a genius writing technique
I don’t have to sing too many praises, it’s a renowned fact that the story written from the heart, touches the hearts of readers. It doesn’t need any gimmicks or cheesy lines or caricature characters. This story went against all the set norms and still could teach a whole generation of indie authors how to write love story.
“Archer Hale’s voice was one of the most beautiful things in the whole wide world.”5 stars for Awkward boy. Sweet, silent Archer Hale.

Why did I wait so long to read this book?! Ahhh! I’m so upset I didn’t read this sooner, but at the same time I’m so happy I’ve finally read it! Now I get why everyone was raving about this story! Definitely lived up to the hype in my opinion, and I want to read this book all over again. Bree and Archer forever!

I’m fully convinced there’s some type of magic in this book because, I couldn’t put it down, I was so drawn and captivated by Bree and Archer’s story. This story was a mixture of trauma, sadness, healing, love, friendship, and so much more. Both Bree and Archer dealt with trauma (*fair warning look up trigger warnings just in case), before meeting they were stuck, not quite able to move forward in their lives, but upon meeting each other something just… clicked in place with them. In a way, I would say that Archer and Bree were able to understand the emotional toll they each were going through, and were able to grasp exactly how the other was feeling. Compared to other people in their lives, no one understood Archer or Bree.

Bree moving to Pelion was her way of trying to find some peace, especially after still dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event that happened to her months ago. While in Pelion, Bree just thought she’d do her own thing and hopefully work on herself, the last thing she expected was meeting a handsome, quiet, whiskey colored eyed man. From the moment, Bree met Archer, she was immediately drawn to him, she could see underneath his shaggy hair and long beard that he was an attractive man, but there was something about him that she couldn’t exactly pinpoint that making her feel some type of way she hasn’t experienced before. Similarly Archer was drawn to Bree that he’d never experienced, but he was so enamored by her smiles, laughter, beauty, conversations with her, the man was absolutely head over heels for her!

This story was absolutely perfection in every sense of the way. One of my favorite things (among many) from this story was the sweet, tender moments that Bree and Archer shared together. From the bouquet of Almond Joys that Archer got for Bree, to Bree giving Archer a haircut, to essentially Archer and Bree hanging out all the time, I loved every second of Bree and Archer together. There were moments where I was internally screaming with delight, whooping for joy, and at moments getting emotional. Such a loving relationship Bree and Archer had, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about them, I can’t stop talking about how much I love these two characters with all my heart. This story was beautifully written and while it definitely dealt with some dark and heavy topics, I adored the romance between Archer and Bree.

For all the romantic, sweet, passionate moments Bree and Archer shared, they still had to face some hardships along the way, namely those people being Travis and Victoria Hale ugh! Those two were so manipulative and I wanted to smack them for trying to hurt and get in the way of my precious Bree and Archer’s relationship. I digress, regardless Bree and Archer’s managed to come out on top.

I feel like right away after chapter two or three, I had a gut instinct telling me this book was going to become another favorite of mine. The type of book that wouldn’t just stay with me after just finishing reading, but also a book that I would find myself thinking about constantly, wanting to read it all over again just so I could pretend it was my first time reading Bree and Archer’s story. This story, these characters will forever remain a part of me, and while that might be dramatic of me to say for some people, I genuinely felt connected to Bree and Archer, I was invested in their lives, their relationship, and I grew to care for them. This is a book I would highly recommend to anyone, especially considering this was my first Mia Sheridan book, I can officially say I’m buying more of her books immediately.

Overall, this book had me feeling so much from the love Bree and Archer had for each other, to the struggles they faced, to the happy moments, every single part of this story had a tight grip on my heart. If I wasn’t crying in the beginning, I sure was sobbing like a baby towards to the end. In addition, the epilogue, the extended epilogue had me feeling so giddy and happy that it made up for me crying a lot earlier. I can’t say enough great things about this book, please do yourself a favor and read this story!

I just LOVE LOVE this book, this was the first book I read of Mia Sheridan and I’ve been hooked since. So I have to have a re-read every now and again and this book will always have a little piece of my heart.
I don’t want to give to much away plot wise you just NEED to read this book if you haven’t.
This is a story of survival and healing by the power of connection and love, Mia Sheridan always writes so beautifully that you feel the strong emotions throughout every book especially this one. I loved the development of Bree and Archers relationship it wasn’t instant love and it felt like a natural progression and not rushed from them becoming friends and still feeling the strong connection between them with great detail.
I loved both characters SO much and the things they have been though were so sad and heartbreaking. Bree brings out the real Archer when no one else cared. Bree is just such a great heroine 100% likeable just a good sweet person with a big heart. Archer is misunderstood, forgotten, shy, naive at times and protective of what he loves. The perfect book boyfriend.
