The Summer I Turned Pretty Summary
Some summers are just destined to be pretty.
Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Book Reviews
4.0 out of 5 stars Best of the series

I read this trilogy after the Amazon series dropped because I wanted to know how everything would turn out in the very end. While I can’t say this was my favorite trilogy of all time, I do think my younger middle-school self would have loved these books. My 20-something self however found the love triangle a little cliche and the whole plot series pretty predictable. These books were extremely easy reads though and I finished all 3 books in two days. For me, the first book was the best and they just slowly got worse as I kept reading. The third book in particular made me the most mad and I almost stopped reading.
My biggest regret was that I didn’t read these books when I was younger and would have appreciated them more. Overall though, I’m excited to see how they’ll keep adapting the books into the series and which plot points they’ll stay true to!

4.0 out of 5 stars An Easy Read

I enjoyed this and it kept me me turning the page. For the most part, a light read. A bit predictable, but still enjoyable. Had to go with 4 stars, just a little too abrupt of an ending for 5 stars. Spends a lot of time going back and forth, plenty of detail, then suddenly summers over, and then the book. Wish it had not had the hurry up finish.
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Teen Beach Read

Jenny Han has a way of perfectly capturing youth. I can easily rember being that cringy, coming into themselves teenager that was completely smitten but also loved each person around them in different ways.
The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Belly as she returns to the Summer home that they spend every summer at along with the family of her mom’s best friend.
Belly is determined that this summer will be different then years past now that she’s (almost) grown up. She quickly meets Cam, a very sweet, intelligent boy who thinks she is beautiful. Belly also thinks he is the perfect boy to help her get over her long time crush, Conrad.
This is a fun fast pace read that will keep you turning the page (or swiping left 😀).

Reading some of the reviews had me nervous but I communicated my concern with the seller and they were prompt and helpful. I would definitely buy from this seller again, 100% recommended.
