However, fate does not allow her to escape into the human world, when she gets caught and taken back to the pack house to be punished by her new alpha for running away.
Alpha Klaus is conflicted about punishing a girl who was obviously running away from something, or someone. Yet, he needed to set an example out of her to prove to his new pack that he is not to be crossed with.

I got pulled into this because it was featured in a Dreame ad on Facebook. Unlike most offerings found on that app, this author appears to have a grasp of spelling and grammar. I’ve done the Dreame thing before where they slowly bleed you for $50 so I googled it and found out it was offered for Kindle. Glad I did. The story is good enough that I read it straight through in about a day. The main characters have believable personalities, the dialog is good, and it was nice to read one where the characters are people first and werewolves second. There was none of that using the mating bond or being in heat to propel into a gratuitous sex scene. The relationship actually develops. The author proves that there may be hope for this genre yet. I didn’t hate myself afterward for wasting money and getting drawn in so that’s a win.

The story is good so far, but I was not happy to find out that i spent $8 for only the first 36 chapters. I mean, it just stopped. Now, of course, I don’t want to purchase the second book based on principal alone even though I’m curious how it ends.

I absolutely loved this book, hooked from the first page. Love Ella she is an incredibly strong female lead, love her and alpha klaus. Would highly recommend this book, it’s got heartbreaking storylines, but happy bits too.
