I’m writing this review after reading all 5 books in the series. To sum it up – it was not what I expected at all.
The series are centered around love, but the “fun grown up” stuff doesn’t even come into play until the third and fourth book. If you want a naughty, fast and easy romance novel, this is not it.
This book/series I would say is mostly an adventure book, centered around a theme of love, mates who can’t seem to stay together long enough to have any fun, and Greek mythology. Lots of other adult topics are also in play, like rape, miscarriage, domestic abuse, addiction, personality disorders, loss.
At first I was really bothered by how slow the mates were getting with it, but then I got sucked into the adventure part, and wanting to know what will happen next.
I’m very impressed with the detailed description (which slowed down the momentum at times) of scenery, full spectrum, complicated, dynamic personalities, and how incredibly cohesive the story is. All 5 books are full of twists and turns that you don’t see coming.
It had the feel of Harry Potter, lord of the rings, pirates of the Caribbean, the Witcher and similar good series. This could be it’s own franchise if a big production company got a hold of it.
This is probably the most in depth, well thought out to the smallest detail, fleshed out and cohesive story/series I’ve read on kindle. Not so much a smut/reverse harem novel like I thought at first.
